How we came to be, and why we are unique
By: Kim PearsonWelcome to a unique collaboration. FISH (Fisher's Interesting Stories Here) is a product of the first year of the Interactive Journalism Institute for Middle Schoolers (www.tcnj.edu/~ijims), a partnership between faculty and students at The College of New Jersey and Fisher Middle School educators and students. This project is funded under the National Science Foundation's Broadening Participation in Computing Program. More information about the project can be found here: www.tcnj.edu/~ijims and information about our grant is available here: http://www.tcnj.edu/~pa/news/2007/nsfgrant.htm. The story packages that you view here were conceived, reported and produced by Fisher students and teachers who completed our one week summer institute. Further development of this project will take place over the next academic year and summer.
The online magazine, NEWS (New Ewing Web Stories) created by the participants in the second year of IJIMS can be found at http://highered.commandprompt.com/news/.
